Australian Global Bank commenced a new strategy of targeting the Online Banking Channel market offering a superior customer experience by setting up an innovative start up Internet Bank on a new Banking Platform. The solution included automated identification and security verification, on demand customer analytics and integration of back office functions associated with customer account management, payments and accounting.

Implementation of Core Banking System into leading Retail Bank

Through the implementation of the Core Banking System project, the client will deliver real time/online transactional information for both the customer and the internal reporting requirements of the bank on a 24/7 processing timeframe. Integration was provided into the banks current General Ledger, the streamlining of the banks reconciliation process, along with the assistance of integrating the banks payments system into the new solution.

Implementation of a new IFRS compliant Hedge Accounting solution for an Australian Global Bank

Under the strict governance of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the banks group treasury business unit required a robust solution to manage the hedging activities for IFRS compliant and balance sheet management purposes. In order to select the most appropriate bank instruments and associated underlying items to hedge, a best of breed solution was successfully implemented that not only focused on the hedge accounting solution but also the sourcing of trade information from source systems through relevant data management layers. This was a successful global roll out.

Implementation of JGAAP compliant Sub Ledger for leading Japanese Institutional Bank

Successfully led the implementation of a fully JGAAP compliant Sub Ledger to integrate into the banks current General Ledger which will deliver a full range of valuation and amortisation of the institutional banking products such as Derivatives, Securities, Futures and Options, FX and Core Banking products. Initiative was the key to the successful delivery of the project in Solution and Architectural design, and lead roles in the Data Delivery team integrating with the banks current front end systems.

Prototype development of new Accounting and Reporting Platform for a leading Benelux Bank

The client was seeking to transform their fragmented back office applications into a single integrated Accounting and Reporting Platform. Platinum Insight assisted in the prototype design and development of a leading integrated software application to handle both retail and treasury products. The solution allowed seamless cross border accounting and reporting functions to meet both local GAAPs as well as the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Successful implementation of a new Funds Transfer Pricing solution for a New Zealand Bank

In order to accurately calculate the cost/benefit of funding on the Retail lending book, the client required a robust funds transfer pricing model that integrated with the General Ledger and relevant data and reporting repositories. This required significant focus on the end to end business processes and system alignment in order to ensure accurate results. Funds Transfer Pricing is a critical tool for treasury balance sheet management purposes as well as banker profitability.
